THE GENERAL DATA

Removal

THE FOUR-CYLINDER ENGINE

The thermostat is located in the case of the water pump. On engines 1,6-I with code AHL, the thermostat fastens to a branch pipe of system of cooling, sideways the block of cylinders of the engine.
PERFORMANCE ORDER
Merge cooling liquid from cooling system.

Engines, except the engine 1,6-I AHL

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Unscrew two bolts, крепящие a branch pipe of system of cooling to the bottom part of the water pump and merge cooling liquid in the corresponding container. Move a branch pipe of system of cooling with the hose connected to it aside, a thermostat Arrangement fig. see four-cylinder engines, except the engine 1,6-I AHL.
2. Remove the thermostat and a sealing ring. At thermostat installation it is necessary to use a new sealing ring.

Engines 1,6-I AHL

The thermostat of engines 1,6-I AHL

1 – a bolt,
2 – a branch pipe,
3 – a sealing ring,
4 – the thermostat

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Unscrew two bolts and remove a connecting branch pipe from the block of cylinders of the engine.
2. Remove the thermostat together with a sealing ring. At installation it is necessary to use a new sealing ring, fig. the Thermostat of engines 1,6-I AHL see.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Measure length () the closed thermostat, fig. Working positions of the thermostat see.
2. Rough check of working capacity of the thermostat can be spent, having suspended it on a thread in the glass vessel filled with water, and heating up water to boiling (fig. Check of working capacity of the thermostat by its heating in a vessel with water see). At boiling of water the thermostat should open. Otherwise replace it.
The temperature of opening of the thermostat is put on the thermostat case.
At heating of the thermostat to temperature of boiling of water the length of the open thermostat (b) should be more lengths of the closed thermostat () on 7 mm (fig. Working positions of the thermostat see).
The thermostat which is not closed at water cooling, also is subject to replacement.

Installation

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Establish the thermostat with a new sealing ring. Establish a branch pipe of system of cooling and fix its bolts, having tightened their effort of 10 Nanometers.
2. Fill in in the system of cooling cooling a liquid.
3. Start the engine and check up tightness of system of cooling.

THE FIVE-CYLINDER ENGINE

The thermostat is located in the separate case which fastens from the forward party of a head of the block of cylinders (see fig. the Knot of a head of the block of cylinders of the engine 2,3-I-VR5).

The thermostat is necessary for establishing so that the channel for air removal has been directed upwards.

Data for check of working capacity of the thermostat

Temperature of the beginning of opening of the thermostat 87 With.

Temperature of full opening of the thermostat 105 With.

Length of a valve stroke of the thermostat not less than 7 mm.

THE SIX-CYLINDER ENGINE

Removal of a connecting branch pipe of system of cooling from a forward part of a head of the block of cylinders


1 – a bolt,
2 – a connecting branch pipe,
3 – a sealing ring,
4 – the thermostat

The thermostat is located in the connecting branch pipe established on the block of cylinders of the engine.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Merge cooling liquid from cooling system.
2. Remove поликлиновой a belt.
3. Ослабьте a tension of a gear belt also remove a gear belt from a camshaft pulley.
The prevention

For protection of a gear belt against a cooling liquid close a gear belt polyethylene.


4. Unscrew two bolts and remove a connecting branch pipe of system of cooling from a forward part of a head of the block of cylinders, fig. Removal of a connecting branch pipe of system of cooling from a forward part of a head of the block of cylinders see.
5. Take a sealing ring and the thermostat from a head of the block of cylinders.
6. Check up working capacity of the thermostat.

Installation

Correct arrangement of the thermostat on six-cylinder engines

The arrow specifies the valve for air removal.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Establish the thermostat in a head of the block of cylinders so that the valve for air removal settled down from above, the Correct arrangement of the thermostat fig. see six-cylinder engines.
2. Establish a connecting branch pipe of system of cooling with a new sealing ring and screw bolts, having tightened their moment of 10 Nanometers.
3. Establish a gear belt on a camshaft pulley.
4. Fill in cooling liquid in cooling system.
5. Start the engine and check up tightness of system of cooling.
