Prorolling of brake system


The prevention

The brake liquid used in hydraulic system of brakes is poisonous, therefore at its hit on a skin it is necessary to wash out immediately this place a plentiful quantity of water. If the liquid has got to eyes or in an organism, it is necessary to address immediately to the doctor. Some liquids have property easily to ignite and can light up even from contact to hot knots of the car. Besides, the liquid used in hydraulic system of brakes, dissolves a paint and plastic, therefore at liquid hit on a paint and varnish covering of the car wash out its plentiful quantity of water. Also this liquid гигроскопична, i.e. Absorbs a moisture from air and, therefore a liquid, stored long time in open ware, it is not recommended to use.


Prorolling of hydraulic system of brakes is necessary for removal of air which considerably reduces efficiency of braking. Air can get to hydraulic system owing to system depressurization at repair, replacement of separate knots or a brake liquid. In air presence in a drive specifies the increased course of a pedal of a brake and its softness. Before air removal check up tightness of all knots of a drive of brakes and their connections.

Never use a brake liquid repeatedly.

At performance of operation of prorolling of brake system let's to level of a brake liquid fall below the tank middle.

If the brake liquid has left system because of leak in system, find the reason and eliminate leak before the further actions.

If the hydraulic system was separated partially, and corresponding precautions have been accepted to prevent the further loss of a liquid, it is possible to pump over only a system part.

Prorolling can be carried out with the assistant or it is independent, the complete set of prorolling of brake system. Always operate under the instruction. It is recommended to use the complete set everywhere, where probably as it very much simplifies prorolling procedure. If the complete set for prorolling is not present, it is necessary to be reserved by pure capacity and a transparent plastic tube of the corresponding length which should put on densely on the prorolling union. The help of other person thus is required.

Sequence of prorolling

If prorolling of all hydraulic system of brakes is made, prorolling of each contour begin with a forward wheel on models without antiblocking system. On models with antiblocking system first of all pump over a forward contour.

Prorolling – the basic method (two persons)
PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Remove a dustproof cap from the union of prorolling of the wheel cylinder, clear it and dress on it the pure transparent hose which other end lower in the capacity partially filled with a brake liquid. The capacity should be at least on 300 mm above the prorolling union. Thanks to it air hit in the cylinder through a carving of the union of prorolling is prevented.
2. Sharply press a pedal of a brake of 3-5 times with an interval of 2-3 seconds, unscrew on a floor of a turn the prorolling union at the pressed pedal. Continuing to press a pedal, supersede a liquid being in system together with air through a hose in capacity. After the pedal will reach extreme forward position, and вытекание liquids through a hose will stop, will screw the prorolling union home. Repeat these operations, the air outlet from a hose will not stop yet.
3. Keeping a pedal in the pressed position, screw up the prorolling union against the stop and remove a hose.
4. Wipe the union of prorolling and establish a protective cap.
5. Repeat these operations for other wheels.


The prevention

At air removal constantly watch presence of a brake liquid in a tank, without supposing an exposure of its bottom as thus air again will get to system.

At absence the pedal should pass in system of brakes of air about half of course. To exclude influence of the vacuum amplifier of brakes on prorolling of brakes, air removal make at the idle engine.


Prorolling – use of the complete set with the unidirectional valve

The complete set consists of a tube with the unidirectional valve established on it which excludes possibility of return to brake system of a remote brake liquid with air vials. On some complete sets the transparent container in which air vials in a brake liquid are well looked through is established.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Remove a dustproof cap from the union of prorolling of the wheel cylinder, clear it and dress on it a hose from the complete set. Unscrew on half of turn the prorolling union. Smoothly press a brake pedal against the stop and slowly release it in a starting position. Repeat this operation until from the prorolling union there will be no brake liquid without air vials.
2. Tighten the prorolling union against the stop, remove from it a tube and dress a dustproof cap.
The prevention

At air removal constantly watch presence of a brake liquid in a tank, without supposing an exposure of its bottom as thus air again will get to system.



Prorolling – use of the complete set of prorolling under pressure

Use of the complete set of prorolling under pressure demands giving to it of the compressed air for what it is possible to use the beefy tyre of a spare wheel.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Reduce pressure in the tyre to the size specified in the maintenance instruction of the complete set.
The prevention

VW recommends to use the compressed air submitted under the pressure of no more than 2 bar.


2. Connect the filled brake liquid the container to пополнительному to a tank of the main brake cylinder. Prorolling process begins after unscrewing of the union of prorolling on half of turn. After when will stop вытекание a brake liquid with vials of air and the pure brake liquid will follow only, screw up the prorolling union against the stop.

Prorolling by pressure is especially effective, when the system is difficult for prorolling or when full prorolling of system is spent during usual replacement of a brake liquid.

All methods
PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. After end of process of prorolling strongly press a brake pedal, thus it should pass about half of course. Смойте all traces of the spilt brake liquid also tighten unions of prorolling by the demanded moment, then establish on them dustproof caps.
2. Check up level of a brake liquid in пополнительном a tank of brake system and, if necessary, add a brake liquid.


The prevention

The remote brake liquid should not be used more.

The pure brake liquid should be stored in a tight vessel as it very much гигроскопична that lowers temperature of boiling and worsens technical characteristics of a brake liquid.
