11.11. A forward wing

THE GENERAL DATA

Elements of fastening of a forward wing

1 – a forward wing,
2 – screws 9 pieces,
3 – nuts, 4 – Torx-screws T25, 25 Nanometers,
5 – nuts 4 pieces,

Mudguard of a forward wing

1 – a plastic nut of a mudguard,
2 – an arrangement of a plastic nut on a mudguard,

Removal

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Remove a forward bumper.

2. Remove lateral repeaters of turns.

3. Unscrew screws and remove facing of a niche of a forward wheel.

4. Unscrew screws and remove from under a wing a mudguard (fig. the Mudguard of a forward wing see). If necessary replace plastic nuts in a mudguard.

5. Unscrew screws, крепящие a forward wing.
The prevention
In order to avoid damage of a paint and varnish covering wind with a sticky tape of a place nearby from screws of fastening of a wing.

6. The wing is established on a layer of protective mastic, therefore for branch of a wing from a body soften protective mastic by means of the hair dryer. The hair dryer put on a flat nozzle and, gradually warming up mastic, remove a wing. In the absence of the hair dryer remove protective mastic by means of a sharp knife.
Consistently, beginning from a rack, warm up wing installation sites on mastic and, being careful, remove a wing from the car.
The prevention
For protection of the bottom of the car the film on a basis поливинилхлори yes (PVC) is used and it can be heated up only for short time and is not so strong. At heating the film changes the properties and bubbles. Steams, unhealthy are thus allocated, and hydrochloric acid which promotes corrosion occurrence is formed.

Installation

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Before wing installation into place clear an interfaced surface and put zinc paste in places of fastening of a wing on a wheel niche and a forward rack (VW AKL-381 035 50). This paste is used as anticorrosive protection.

2. In other places where the wing is interfaced to a body, paste a sealing tape for wings.

3. Establish a forward wing on the car, combine apertures under bolts and screw up bolts, having tightened their moment of 5 Nanometers. At wing installation check up, that backlashes between a wing and a cowl, and also between a wing and a forward door were uniform on all length.
Backlashes at wing installation:
Wing – a cowl – 3 mm.
Wing – a headlight and the index of turns – 1 mm.
Wing – a forward door – 4 mm.

4. A tightening of bolts of fastening of a wing make the moment of 5 Nanometers.

5. On an internal surface covered put a layer of anticorrosive protection.

6. Establish lateral repeaters of turns.

7. Establish and screw screws a wing mudguard.

8. Establish and screw screws facing of a niche of a wheel.

9. Establish a forward bumper.
