Selector positions
THE GENERAL DATA


On a combination of devices the display on which it is shown is located, in what position there is a selector.
The prevention

Never during movement translate the selector in a position "R" go "Р".


Р – Lay blocking.

Driving wheels are mechanically blocked.

It is necessary to translate the selector on this position only at completely it is stopped ном the car. Before inclusion and position deenergizing "Р" it is necessary to press the blocking button on the selector handle. Before deenergizing of this position at the included ignition it is necessary to press a brake pedal in addition.

R – the Backing.

The backing position should join only at completely stopped car and at engine idling. Before transition to a position "R" from positions "Р" or "N" it is necessary to press a brake pedal and to press on the blocking button in the selector handle.

In a position "R" at the included ignition backing lanterns burn.

N – the Neutral position (an idling position).

At a conclusion of the selector from a position "N" at speed of movement to 5 km/h, and also at the motionless car and the included ignition it is necessary to press a brake pedal and to press on the blocking button on the selector handle. However it is not obligatory to press the blocking button when from a position "N" the selector is translated in a position "D".

D – Long advance.

Four transfers are switched with low to higher and on the contrary automatically depending on loading on the engine and from speed of movement.

Under certain conditions movements expediently temporarily to use one of mentioned below positions.

3 – the Position for "hilly" sites of road.

Such position of the selector is recommended when in certain traffic conditions at position of the selector in a position "D" there is a frequent switching with 3 on 4th transfer and on the contrary.

For selector transfer in this position it is necessary to press the blocking button in the selector handle. 2nd are automatically switched upwards and downwards 1st, or 3rd transfers depending on loading to the engine and speeds of movement. 4th transfer is blocked. Thanks to it the brake effect of the engine also increases at a fuel stopping delivery.

2 – the Position for mountain sites of road.

This position is recommended for long liftings and descents. Are automatically switched upwards and downwards 1st or 2nd transfer depending on loading to the engine and speeds of movement. 3rd and 4th transfers remain blocked to avoid not the necessary switchings on the higher transfers. Thus efficiency of braking by the engine also raises.

1 – the Position for mountain sites of road with the big biases.

The choice of this position is recommended at driving on steep slopes and descents. At inclusion of this position it is necessary to press the blocking button on the selector handle. The car moves only on 1st transfer. 2nd, 3rd and 4th transfers are blocked to avoid unnecessary switching on the higher transfers. The greatest possible effect of braking is thus reached by the engine.

Cruise-control in a position "1" selectors cannot be used.

At manual switching on decreasing it is possible to pass to positions "З", "2" and "1", however switching on lower transfers occurs automatically only when after switching as much as possible admissible frequency of rotation of the engine will not be exceeded.

The device of compulsory anticipatory switching on lower transfer ("kik-daun")

This device provides maximum on the given traffic conditions car acceleration. As soon as pressure upon an accelerator pedal will exceed certain threshold value, depending on frequency of rotation of the engine and speed of movement there is a switching on one of lower transfers. Return switching on the nearest higher transfer will follow only then when as much as possible admissible value of frequency of rotation of a cranked shaft will be reached.


The prevention

Keep in mind that on slippery road driving wheels at compulsory anticipatory switching on lower transfer can start to revolve.



Recommendations for choice positions


Engine start-up

The engine can be started only at position of the selector of management in positions "N" or "Р".

Choice of a position for movement

Before selector transfer in one of movement positions at the motionless car and the working engine it is necessary to press a brake pedal always.

At a position choice at the motionless car it is impossible to press an accelerator pedal.

If during movement of the car the selector has been casually established in a position "N", it is necessary before lever transfer in any position of a forward course to clean a foot from a pedal of an accelerator and to wait engine idling.


The prevention

At the working engine it is necessary at position of the selector in any of movement positions to keep the car by means of a foot brake as even at single turns of the engine twisting moment transfer on wheels completely does not interrupt – the car creeps.

If at the motionless car one of movement positions is chosen, it is impossible to press uncontrolledly in no event on an accelerator pedal (including to increase giving of fuel by a hand from a motor compartment). The car immediately will start to move – and it can occur under certain circumstances even then when a lay brake will tighten.

Before to make any actions with working engine, it is necessary to establish the selector in a position "P" and to tighten a lay brake.

Choose one of movement positions (R, D, 3, 2, 1). Wait, there will be no yet a transfer inclusion in a transmission, and the stream of capacity will not reach driving wheels (weak jerk is thus felt). Only then press an accelerator pedal.

Stop

Parking
