13.15. Replacement of bulbs of external illumination

THE GENERAL DATA

Arrangement of bulbs in the left headlight

And – a lamp of a passing light, In – a lamp of forward dimensional light, With – a lamp of a headlight and antifog light

Before replacement of a bulb of external illumination remove a wire of weight from the accumulator. Remember that if the bulb just burnt, it can be too hot.

Before replacement of a bulb of external illumination check up a corresponding electric chain and a safety lock. Do not concern a glass flask of a lamp barehanded. The fingerprint evaporates and besieged on a reflector therefore illumination worsens. Обязатель but replace the failed lamps with lamps of the same type. At replacement of the xenon lamps it is necessary to be very attentive and cautious as from the power supply of these lamps it is possible to receive strong blow by a current.

Passing light lamp

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Open a cowl. 2. For access to lamps of the right headlight remove an air inlet. For this purpose unscrew two screws () air inlet fastenings. Pull upwards an air inlet for the back end () and move it to the car middle. 3. Pull back a plastic cover of a headlight and remove it. 4. Remove an electric socket from a back part of a bulb of a headlight, fig. Elements of fastening of a bulb of a passing light see. 5. Compress spring скобы fastenings of a bulb and move скобы aside. Take a bulb from a headlight. 6. At bulb installation do not concern a glass cylinder of a bulb with hands. 7. Establish a new bulb so that the adjusting sock тарельчатого a flange has got to reflector dredging. 8. Fix a bulb spring скобой, having latched it for a clamp. 9. Connect to a bulb an electric socket. 10. Establish a back plastic cover of a headlight. 11. Check up and, if necessary, adjust light of headlights.

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Pull back a plastic cover and remove it from a headlight. 2. Remove an electric socket from a back part of a bulb of a headlight. 3. Compress spring скобы fastenings of a bulb and move скобы aside. Take a bulb from a headlight. 4. Establish a new bulb so that the adjusting sock тарельчатого a flange has got to reflector dredging. Thus average of three contacts of an electric socket will occupy the top position. 5. Fix a bulb spring скобой. 6. Connect to a bulb an electric socket and establish a back plastic cover on a headlight. 7. Check up and, if necessary, adjust light of headlights.

Lamp of forward dimensional light

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Pull back a plastic cover and remove it from a back part of a headlight. 2. Take from the bottom part of a reflector a cartridge with a bulb forward габаритно го light. 3. Press and, in this position, turn counter-clockwise a bulb for its extraction from a cartridge. 4. Insert a new bulb into a cartridge, press and, in this position, turn clockwise before bulb fixing. 5. Insert a cartridge with a bulb into a reflector. 6. Establish a plastic cover of a headlight.

Bulb of the forward index of turns

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Open a cowl. 2. Pull back a wire loop which is strengthened on the case of the index of turns and unhook it. 3. Move forward and remove the index of turns. 4. Turn a cartridge with a bulb counter-clockwise and take it from the case of the index of turns. 5. Press and in this position turn a bulb counter-clockwise for its extraction from a cartridge. 6. Insert a new bulb into a cartridge, press and in this position turn a bulb clockwise before its fixing in a cartridge. 7. Insert a cartridge with a bulb into the case of the index of turns and turn clockwise before fixing. 8. Insert the case of the index of turns and move it against the stop back. Pay attention to that lock ledges on the case of the index of turns have entered into directing headlights and a wing. 9. Pull back a wire loop and fix it in the middle of a flute of the holder.

Lamp of the lateral repeater of turns

Removal of the lateral repeater of turns

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Being careful, shift the repeater of turns forward and take it from a wing, fig. Removal of the lateral repeater of turns see. 2. Take a cartridge with a bulb from the lateral repeater of turns. 3. Take from a cartridge a faulty lamp and insert a new lamp into a cartridge. 4. Insert a cartridge in directing the lateral repeater of turns before its fixing. 5. At first insert the lateral repeater of turns by both grooves into a back part of an aperture of a body and then press on it before its full fixing.

Bulbs of back lanterns

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Open a luggage carrier cover / a back door. 2. On cars the Sedan cast away a luggage carrier upholstery in the location of a back lantern. 3. On cars the Variant open a cover of a lateral luggage shelf in the location of a back lantern. 4. Disconnect an electric socket from a back lantern. 5. Press both clamps ламподержателя in a direction to each other. 6. Take ламподержатель. 7. Press and in this position turn counter-clockwise a faulty bulb for its extraction from a cartridge. 8. Insert a new bulb into a cartridge, press and in this position turn clockwise before its fixing in a cartridge. 9. Insert the holder of bulbs into a back lantern before its fixing. 10. On cars the Sedan establish into place a luggage carrier upholstery. 11. On cars the Variant close a cover of a luggage shelf. 12. Close a luggage carrier cover / a back door.

Bulb of illumination of licence plate

On cars the Sedan lamp replacement should be made by service enterprise "Volkswagen" as the special tool is necessary for access to the lantern case. Further the order of performance for cars the Variant is stated.

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Open a back door. 2. Unscrew screws and remove lantern glass. 3. Take a faulty lamp from ламподержателя and insert a new lamp. 4. Insert lantern glass into a corresponding aperture in a back door, thus track correct position of rubber consolidation and a lantern as a whole in relation to the next lanterns. 5. Not so strongly screw screws of fastening of glass of a lantern, thus track correct position of sealing washers of screws of fastening. 6. Close a back door.

CARS THE SEDAN

The additional lantern of a signal of braking is established on a regiment in the bottom part of back glass.

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Open a luggage carrier cover. 2. Wring out back two plastic spring clamps close to metal holders and take downwards the holder of bulbs, fig. Elements of fastening of the holder of bulbs of an additional lantern of a signal of braking see. 3. Disconnect from the holder of bulbs an electric socket. 4. Take from the holder a faulty bulb with a glass socle and insert a new bulb, fig. of the Detail of an additional lantern of a signal of braking see. 5. Connect to the holder of bulbs an electric socket. 6. Establish the holder of bulbs in the case, thus spring clamps should rise into place.

CARS THE VARIANT

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Remove an internal upholstery of a back door. 2. Press ledges of clamps and take the holder of bulbs from an additional lantern of a signal of braking, the Additional lantern of a signal of braking fig. see cars the Variant. 3. Take from the holder of bulbs a faulty bulb with a glass socle and on its place establish a new bulb. 4. Insert the holder of bulbs into the case, thus spring clamps should rise into place. 5. Establish an internal upholstery of a back door.
