13.33. The basic malfunctions of the generator

THE GENERAL DATA

THE REASON	ELIMINATION METHOD
At ignition inclusion the control lamp of gymnastics of the accumulator does not burn
The accumulator is discharged	Check up pressure and, if necessary, charge the accumulator.
Unreliable connection or oxidation of plugs of the accumulator	Check up reliability of connection and, if necessary, clear accumulator plugs.
The wire on generator contact is unreliably tightened or is oxidised	Check up and, if necessary, tighten a fastening wire to the generator.
The control bulb has fused	Replace a bulb.
The pressure regulator is faulty	Check up and, if necessary replace a pressure regulator.
Wire breakage between the generator, the lock of ignition and a control lamp	Check up pressure on a chain, beginning from the generator.
Generator brushes leaky adjoin to contact rings	Check up length of brushes and freedom of their moving holders.
The winding of excitation of the generator has burnt down	Check up a rotor and diodes with which at detection of defects it is necessary to replace.
The control lamp of gymnastics of the accumulator does not die away at increase in turns of the engine
It is insufficiently tense or is worn out поликлиновой a belt	Check up a condition поликлинового a belt and the mechanism of a tension of a belt.
Idling coupling (only TDI) is faulty	Remove the generator and turn counter-clockwise a generator shaft. If the mobile surface of a belt pulley thus does not turn, means, idling coupling is faulty.
The regulator of pressure or the generator is faulty	Disconnect from a back part of the generator a wire (D ) and include ignition. If the control lamp still has not lighted up, means, the generator or a pressure regulator is faulty.
Brushes of a regulator of pressure are worn out	Check up length of brushes and, if necessary, replace them.
The pressure regulator is faulty	Check up a regulator of pressure and, if necessary, replace it.
The generator is faulty	Check up the generator and, if necessary, replace it.
Defect of the wire connecting the generator with a regulator of pressure	Disconnect a dark blue wire in electric socket Т32А of the block 12 distributive boxes. If after that the control lamp does not burn, means, wire D will close on weight and it is necessary to replace a wire.
The distributive box is faulty	Disconnect a dark blue wire from electric socket Т32А. If after that the control lamp lights up, means, the distributive box is faulty.
The control lamp of gymnastics of the accumulator burns at the switched off ignition
Diode short circuit	Check up and, if necessary, replace the diode.
